Two Day Event

Our  Annual 2DE was  held at Offchurch Bury 28th - 29th May

The 2011 Stoneleigh Riding Club, Kingsley School and Princethorpe College two day event held at Offchurch Bury, Leamington Spa was a huge success. With record entries of over 270 horses, ponies and riders travelling from all across the country, two days of great sport were had by all. The going was near prefect on the old Bury turf and the long days ran to time thanks to over 100 volunteers which make the event possible.

Unusual in that this was a traditional 'long format' event, where each rider and horse completed a dressage test and show jumping round on the Saturday followed by an endurance test on the Sunday of roads and tracks, steeplechase and a 30 fence x-country course.

The course rode well with some new fences which caught a few riders unawares, but the weekend passed without any incidents - just the odd bruised pride!

The winning teams were Bradley Dale and Vyrnwy in the riding club sections and Winchester House mixed and Malvern St James in the schools sections.

A great weekend was had by all, from the smallest 12.2hh pony to the more senior oldest riding club competitors - a great start to the summer competition season.
